An interview with Angel Cardona
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio.
What are some past bands you’ve been a part of?
Some bands I’ve been in are Xavier, Blue Eyed Amber, Bull Dog God, Kyso and Cardona.
What propelled you into music?
When Ozzy released the album “Tribute” dedicated to Randy Rhoads, it got me hooked on the guitar. I’ve been a music junkie ever since. My parents bought me the LP and Cort Randy Rhoads copy guitar in a last-ditch effort to keep me out of trouble. I was a bad kid, and the guitar was my road to being able to do something that made me happy, and I am so grateful to my Mom and Pops for it every day. Love you both, R.I.P.
What are some of your favorite albums?
“Dr. Feelgood” by Motley Crue, Zakk Wylde’s “Book of Shadows”, “Electric Mud” by Muddy Waters, The Black Crowes “Southern Harmony and Music Companion”, “Are you Experienced” by Jimi Hendrix, Alice in Chains self-titled album, “Blunderbuss” by Jack White, The Beatles “Abbey Road” and John Lennon’s “Plastic Ono Band”.
Who are some of your inspirations and muses?
My music is drawn from my life experiences. Every day on the earth is an inspiration to better to it and to each other.
What are your hobbies?
I love music, so I like to pick up LPs for my vinyl collection. I also collect guitar picks, rock T-shirts, music magazines. Pretty much all things music. I also love old cars, so I like to check out local car shows. And speaking of music, I love going to concerts, pretty much any live music performances. I also love spending time with my amazing, beautiful wife, my grandkids and family.
Do you have a favorite quote from a musician?
“I make music for myself first and hope others love it as much as I do!”
